Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Ovelone® tool work on all car windows?
Karblon® is designed to break clear and tinted tempered glass, commonly found in side and rear windows. It does not work on laminated glass, which is typically used for windshields and some side windows. To check your car windows, look for a “Tempered” label in the bottom corner or consult your car manufacturer.
How do I know what type of glass my car has?
Most sunroofs and rear windows are tempered. For side windows, check the bottom corner for a “Tempered” or “Laminated” label. If unclear, roll down the window and examine the edge—tempered glass appears as a single piece, while laminated glass has a layered look.
Is Ovelone® reusable?
Yes. The spring-loaded spike resets automatically for multiple uses, and the seatbelt cutter remains sharp for repeated cuts.
How can I test Ovelone®?
To safely test the window breaker, use a hard surface like a notepad you’ll hear a “click” when activated. For real testing on glass, wear safety gloves and goggles. The seatbelt cutter is sharp and will easily slice through a seatbelt when pulled at a diagonal angle.
Why does the spike look misaligned inside the tool?
This is intentional. The spring-loaded spike centers itself upon activation, ensuring proper function when pressed against a window.
Can the spike release accidentally?
No. The Ovelone® tool requires 12 pounds of force to activate, making accidental deployment impossible in your pocket, bag, or keychain. Do not press it against your fingers, as this could cause injury.
Can I bring Ovelone® in my carry-on for air travel?
Due to its built-in blade, we recommend packing it in checked luggage to avoid confiscation.
How do I remove the safety blade clip?
Attach a key ring, cable tie, or lanyard to the clip loop for better grip, then pull briskly to unsnap it. Without support, removing the clip may be difficult and could damage the tool.
